Keep Slowing

HOW SLOWING DOWN IS A SUPERPOWER

I know what some of you are thinking: “I can’t afford to slow down. I don’t have time for that. If I slow down, I’ll lose my edge. I’ll lose my JOB.”

I know, because I use to say all of those things. And candidly, it used to annoy the crap out of me when people told me I needed to slow down!

When we feel the pressure of “too much to do and too little time,” we believe that the only way forward is to hurry, to ramp it up, to keep GOING.

But that’s not true. The way toward your most fruitful, productive life is to keep SLOWING.

Hurry will consume you until you have nothing left. Slowing down will restore you.

Hurry will burn you out. Slowing down will help you thrive.

Hurry will cloud your decision-making. Slowing down will give you clarity.

Hurry leads to mistakes. Slowing down improves the quality of everything you do.

Hurry will make you resent everything you have to do. Slowing down will help you enjoy this one precious life you have.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you KEEP SLOWING you will find that it is the difference between success and failure.

Ready, set, slow.

Of course, the lemon barely flushes, and our replacement is stalled by pandemic supply chain problems. For now, I wave my hand like a frenzied magician seeking the one receptive spot. I hold in my “I told you so.” Marriage is also a complicated thing keep reading

There’s No Real Reason to Eat 3 Meals a Day

Your weird pandemic eating habits are probably fine.

For the first 34 years of my life, I always ate three meals a day. I never thought much about it—the routine was satisfying, it fit easily into my life, and eating three meals a day is just what Americans generally do. By the end of last summer, though, those decades of habit had begun to erode. The time-blindness of working from home and having no social plans left me with no real reason to plod over to my refrigerator at any specific hour of the day. To cope, I did what many Americans have done over the past year: I quasi-purposefully fumbled around for a new routine, and eventually I came up with some weird but workable results—and with Big Meal – – – keep reading

That’s all for now friends. Enjoy the reads and have a beautiful weekend, rest up, do something you love xx
