Women Connect ~ short weekly post to inspire and encourage.
Jesus
Brave, strong, purposeful, direct – in the face of His enemies and with the cross right in front of Him.
Jesus – He knew what was ahead – ridicule, humiliation, false accusations – the least of it – a cruel and painful death – the very worst – enough to make anyone lay down and die right there – enough to make anyone run and not come back. The task ahead almost too much for any man to bare.
But Jesus – us in mind – brave – embraced the Cross not because He wasn’t scared or overwhelmed or rattled to His core by what was required of Him – but because –
He knew His Fathers plan, He knew His purpose, He knew us.
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
Jesus could have vanquished all in front of Him with just one word – but where would that leave us – totally done for – unredeemed, no good for anything on our own.

Jesus – us in mind, brought low, cast down, vanquished for a purpose – so we wouldn’t be.
Brave isn’t about not feeling scared or vulnerable or inadequate – its about being all of that and turning up anyway.
We can be brave because He was, our brave nothing compared to His – – – so we can stay when it would be easier to run, we can wage our battle even when its all uphill, we can keep on going when the results of all our doing seem scarce on the ground and we can believe – – –
Even for the impossible.
He went first and nothing can stand or endure or prevail over us because of that. (v6)
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5
“Be Brave.Your bravery wins a thousand battles you can’t see because your bravery strengthens a thousand others to win their battles too” Ann Voskamp – A Holy Experience
Much love to you all today

I wanted to share this amazingly beautiful post – In Praise of A Holy Imagination from author Emily P Freeman with you today. It seemed to follow along so beautifully to a few of the thoughts in last weeks Women Connect post On Faith and Believing and with words I couldn’t hope to come close to . Hope its a blessing to you.
Love to you all today

I love this… Brave is my word of the year…though nothing we can bravely take on comes close to what our Savior had to endure. ♥ And I love the Ann Voskamp quote… Thanks for being a brave woman Tracey! xox

Ahh that’s right – I’m going to go back and read that post again. I think I write about certain topics this one included because i need to hear it myself- most days I feel like the least brave woman in the world. Except for what Christ has done for me and this stirring He puts inside I might not make it outa bed. Your comments are always such an encouragement and blessing to me – thanks for being there and for what feels like having my back xx

I’m doing a Precept study on covenants and the lesson I worked on today had me thinking about how Jesus brings freedom. We are no longer oppressed by the law, but free in him. And, you’re right, we’re brave because of that, because of Jesus. Thanks for sharing at #ThreeWordWednesday!

Being brave wins a thousand battles that we don’t even know we are fighting and inspires others to fight a little harder and stand a little taller, doesn’t it. Great words of inspiration! 🙂

I think so many people get scared when they start having thoughts of quitting. They begin to question the entire purpose of their calling, rather than just expecting that they’re going to feel like quitting at some point. The sooner we realize it, the better!! Feeling like quitting is just a feeling, not necessarily a truth. Great examples today from Jesus! Thank you:)
