Women Connect ~ short weekly post to inspire and encourage.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Hebrews 11:1
Its faith that gets us out of bed in the morning.
Confident assurance somedays, sometimes just a simple knowing – –
That God is good
or we’d pull the covers back over and stay there.
How else would we do it, how else would we face what each day delivers us except that we trust that He is with us in all His goodness and that there is more than what we see with these human eyes.
He’s what makes sense of it all – – – now that the worlds gone mad.
And some days me not far behind.

Faith – a signal and sign of what we cannot see with our eyes.
But we see with our hearts.
We see ourselves loved and held and protected. We see Him near
We see battles won and sickness healed. Hearts softened and weak things made strong. We see our cup overflowing and His light in the dark, we see our children happy and believing and our tables full. We see communities changed and love overcoming all the bad.
We see that with our spirit, we believe it and pray it and know it before we see it flesh and blood.
The eye kind of seeing can be over rated.
Heart believing – now that’s something.
It comes from God. Faith itself – like a sweet gift so we can experience God for ourselves, so we can experience His love, so we can get up in the morning, so we can lay hold of what He made us for, so we can give it away to the world.
Faith is good, a little bit, a big bit – it comes from God, its good.
We are the ones that thinks its not enough or that its all over the shop so it wont work. Yet its not a yardstick of our goodness, it doesn’t make us good – it simply points to His goodness. A gift to us, a life line to God.
Lets not lament over what faith we don’t have, lets use the faith we do have, lets stir it up and water it and grow it and celebrate it because we are blessed to believe – our faith makes Him glad and the smallest amount of it can do amazing things.

And about that mountain that you think your not moving – that you think your faith is no good for. But your faith might be moving it one shovel full at a time and its hard to notice that sort of movement or what if its working from the other side and taking the back right out of it. It might still look big and strong but one day it will crumble because theres nothing left to hold it up. Thats what God does with your little bit of faith – big things.
We don’t need mountains of faith to move mountains – we just need the faith we have right now.
And when we struggle in our believing we can pray. “Lord, I believe, help Thou my unbelief.” Mark 9:24 One of the best prayers ever.
Your faith – its pleasing and its good to God.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1: 8-9
We know – know beyond a shadow of doubt, death or despair. He has touched our tears. He has cupped our broken hearts with His scars. He has whispered to the howl, “I know, I know. And I’ve come to begin the making of all things new.” We believe. Because we know – – – He knows our grief – – – We know His goodness. Ann Voskamp
Love to you all today

Another timely post dear Tracey…. Last Sunday our preacher spoke of the verses in Ephesians 1– that the eyes of our heart may be enlightened… and just this morning in my bible study (No Other Gods- by Kelly Minter….really soooo good…) our assignment was to read Hebrews 11… slowly… thoughtfully. And then I find your post. Divine appointments? ♥ Your analogy of little faith moving mountains I think is an apt description to exactly how the power of God uses our seeds of faith when we decide to prayerfully come into agreement with Him. So happy to be on your list and get the good word straight to my inbox each week ♥

Maybe this weeks post was just for you Heather – I usually have a scripture and some ideas percolating for a few days before I write my W/Connect post but this week I had nothing till Tuesday morning when this scripture caught my attention completely out of left field. So glad it was a blessing. God is always always doing something good in us!! I’m off to read your latest post so I know I’m in for a good read and a good bit of inspiration.
